Last night, I happened upon an interview that Bitsie Tulloch did with Craig Ferguson, host of "The Late Late Show" on CBS.

Sure, he was funny, but she was absolutely delightful. She matched him line for line, wisecrack for wisecrack, nuanced subtlety for nuanced subtlety. And when all that failed, they flirted hysterically, no holds barred.

I also listened to her being interviewed by a morning radio show where she gently manipulated the topic of conversation from her new NBC show, “Grimm,” – Fridays at 9 p.m. – to the subject of her charity work, supporting the Corazon de Vida Foundation, which funds orphanages in Tijuana.

BITSIE TULLOCH audio excerpt: "I was a really, really cute baby. I did have an awkward phase in middle school -- braces, hair every which way. My sister, who was drop-dead beautiful, claims I had a flat head."

In yet a third chat, a video with TheHollywoodReporter.com, I don’t remember a word she said, frankly, just that her eyes were incredibly beautiful.

Bottom line: If I had a son, I’d tell him to go out in the world and bring back a wife as beautiful, smart, sexy and funny as Bitsie Tulloch.

But since I don’t have a son, I’m going to unabashedly flirt with one of the stars of The Artist myself for the next 10 minutes and apologize to my wife later.

I’ll even mention that she has a new film, Caroline and Jackie, in which she shares billing with her “Grimm” co-star, David Giuntoli, and hope that’ll score me a point or two in conversation. (Hell, did I just say that out loud?)

My mother bought me my first MAD magazine off the newsstand at a Stop & Shop supermarket in 1969. The cover featured a Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid parody that I believe was drawn by Jack Davis.

I read that issue over and over again—at least until I convinced mom to buy the next month’s issue. I was nine and it was the funniest thing I ever saw.

Over the years, I subscribed to MAD and bought the paperbacks collecting the material I missed in earlier years. MAD was my gateway drug—I dabbled in Sick and Cracked, although they left me unsatisfied. Stan Lee started publishing CRAZY at Marvel Comics and I even managed to get a few letters published there.

As I grew older, I started focusing on the names of the artists and writers I liked best—Al Jaffee, Arnold Roth, Dave Berg, Jack Davis and Sergio Aragones—the usual gang of idiots. I also heard about MAD’s precedents such as Trump and Humbug but they were never available until now.

Today, not only do I have a hardbound collection of the entire 11-issue run of Humbug, but I’m also honored to welcome two of its top contributors and co-owners, Al Jaffee and Arnold Roth, to the show.

Around June leads parade of new films for Jon Gries! (Audio Interview)

Mr. Media is recorded live before a studio audience of animated characters who only think they’re flesh and blood… in the NEW new media capital of the world, St. Petersburg, Florida!

“Back in ’82, I used to be able to throw a pigskin a quarter mile.”

What actor doesn’t dream of at least one role for which they will forever be remembered?

For Jon Gries, no doubt, that character is “Uncle Rico” in the 2004 cult classic high school comedy Napoleon Dynamite.

Uncle Rico is a ball of confusion, hard-packed with conflicting characteristics, the classic enigma hiding inside a mystery hiding in plain sight. Like everyone else in the movie, Gries’ character’s every appearance is a subtle rasslin’ match with funny.

JON GRIES audio excerpt: "All of a sudden, Uncle Rico's a wide receiver (on the cartoon)! I said, 'Wait, guys! He's a quarterback! He makes videos of himself throwing a football! You're messing with a pedigree here!'"

Oh, and he has his own personal time machine in the kitchen.

And Gries is so proud of Uncle Rico that he – like the rest of the cast – gladly returned to action for the new Fox animated series, “Napoleon Dynamite,” which airs Sundays at 8:30 p.m.

“That’s what I’m talkin’ about!”

What you may not realize is that for Jon Gries, Napoleon Dynamite was just one of more than a hundred film and TV appearances in a long running career. For example, did you make the connection when Gries played Ben Linus’s father, Roger, in multiple episodes of “Lost”? (The last one, in season six, had scenes that involved dynamite and a high school lesson about Napoleon. Hmm.)

Gries has five new movies in release this year, including Around June with Samaire Armstrong of "Entourage" and “Dirty Sexy Money,” Unicorn City, Natural Selection, Five Time Champion and Deep in the Heart. He has also written and directed an indie film, Pickin' and Grinnin'.
